RC Cars/Trucks/Parts/Tools/Accessories on eBay!
This truck started off life as a TRX4 Sport and quickly became one of the most viewed video on the LetsTryItRC youtube channel. The performance out of the box was very impressive. It demolished the Axial SCX10ii with wheel and servo upgrade, Redcat Gen 7Pro and Gen8 with Servo and wheel upgrades, and kept up with my Axial Capra with substantial upgrades ($1K+ rig) in a head to head shoot out.
It wasn't long before I really wanted to upgrade the looks of the truck and went with the Blazer body, added the interior and was completely satisfied with the aesthetics.
I now have to upgrade some of the electronics because the transmitter, servo and servo horn have failed a time or two. 10/10 would recommend.
GMONEY PIT... This truck never fails to fail, but I absolutely love it!!! I've tried a little bit of everything with this truck. It breaks a lot, but it's easy and cheap enough to keep fixing it back up and it gives me an excuses to upgrade all the things!
The parts list goes on and on, but most notably, when the hood was removed and detail was added to the motor, it gave life and personality to this little beast. Never ceases to impress and do things that I never expected from this budget-ish crawler.
I just keep throwing parts and time at it, and it keeps delivering smiles!
This thing started off life as the quinticential green generic SUV thing that Redcat came out with a long time ago, but it's been a monster truck, back to the SUV thing, then a dump bed Power Wagon, and now it's just the Power Wagon front cab with shortened up frame, sound kit, portal axles, and a whole lot of attitude.
Even though this truck came out quite some time ago, with the mods that I've done, it's still competetive with modern crawlers.
I'm absolutely glad that his was my first hobby grade RC, because I wouldn't have had the guts to chop up and try different things on a more expensive or less expensive truck.
This was dubbed the ChupaCapra... This thing is sick! I got it from someone in the hobby that had been in the hobby his whole life and was lightyears ahead of me. It wasn't perfect when I got it, but with some minor adjustments I was able to make it crawl and shine. I learned a lot with everything that was done to this rig when I got it. Looks good, drives good... it's almost like cheating.
It has the best of everything that was available at the time when I got it: 6S capable castle motor/esc system, reefs power servo, Proline dual suspension, big dawg aluminum bead-locks, mud tires, spectrum transmitter, dig unit with upgraded micro servo, a lot of brass and wheel extenders. This thing is bad!
This thing was solid out of the box! Another underrated crawler from an underrated company... all I did was slap some big ol' tractor tires under it and extend the wheel hubs.
As far as future upgrades go, all I think it needs is a hobbywing 1080 ESC and this thing will be perfect!
